DanConvissor

Dan Convissor, Executive Director, Bike Tarrytown

NYBC is acting as the fiscal sponsor for Bike Tarrytown as they work on securing 501(c)3 status.

Dan started seriously cycling at 11 years old, when his birthday present was a 10-speed bike. He became a bike messenger in NYC and deeply involved with Transportation Alternatives, where he served as a Board Member, conceived the conceptual designs of what became the Williamsburg Bridge bicycle / pedestrian path, and pushed for changes at the Manhattan end of the Brooklyn Bridge that became the nice plaza that’s there today. Now living in Sleepy Hollow, Dan is a significant force behind the Route 9 Active Transportation and the Route 119 Complete Street studies, which are seeking how to provide protected bike lanes, sidewalks and safe crosswalks on these crucial, busy roads. To garner public support for those projects, Dan formed Bike Tarrytown. It’s mission is improving the economy and health of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown by fostering bike culture and infrastructure.
