Thanks to ongoing funding from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, NYBC is able to offer a robust set of resources for online and in person delivery of bike and pedestrian safety programming to New Yorkers.  We invite you to explore those resources using the menu to the right (or below if you are on a phone or device with a smaller screen). We may be able to provide print copies of selected resources for your organization to distribute to your members.  Get in touch with us at This email address is being protected from spambots. Our resources strive to:

  • Improve cyclists’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors with respect to safe bicycling
  • Educate motorists about their legal responsibilities when interacting with bicyclists on the road, and
  • Ensure law enforcement officers, courts,  prosecutors and courts have the knowledge they need to apply laws equitably.

In addition to these resources, our safety work includes in person education in selected underserved communities that have high cycling and pedestrian crash rates. Current areas of focus include selected municipalities in Long Island and the Capital Region. We are always seeking partners who can serve as liaisons in those communities, and welcome you to reach out to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. NYBC believes that education is critical, but it is only one aspect of safer cycling, we also advocate for legislative changes at the state and federal level.  Our priorities are to increase funding for cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, improve vehicle technology to keep cyclists safer, reduce traffic speeds in developed areas, and create fair and equitable laws that improve cycling safety.
